Through the unique cooperation between Monroe Township, the City of Tipp City, and the Tipp City Schools, the community enjoys a broad spectrum of programs and activities coordinated by a green umbrella agency known as Tipp-Monroe Community Services. Residents of Monroe Township (in the incorporated and unincorporated township) provide the funding base for these services through a voted one-half mill tax levy.
Tipp-Monroe Community Services (TMCS) is a local nonprofit organization that assesses the needs and desires of Monroe Township and Tipp City residents on an ongoing basis. This progressive process helps TMCS provide recreational, educational, and cultural programs as well as a wide range of special events for the benefit and enjoyment of the residents of Monroe Township and Tipp City.
Another area of concern to TMCS is the social well-being of the Tipp-Monroe community. To this end, TMCS carefully plans new social service programs, workshops and events on an "as needed" basis. And, TMCS administers the Community Relief Program, the Mobile Meals Programs, the Good Samaritan Fund, Eye Glass Fund, and the Diaper and Formula Fund.
TMCS also provides coordination and assistance to other community groups such as the Historical Society, Tipp City Junior Baseball, Pee Wee Football and Cheerleading, and the Tipp-Monroe Swim Team.
The following are examples of the varied programs and activities provided by TMCS for community members regardless of race, economic status, religion or age:
