Monroe Township provides Emergency Medical Services for residents and non-residents needing service in the unincorporated areas of the township through an agreement with the City of Tipp City. Property owners in the unincorporated areas of the township pay a one (1) mill voted tax. EMS/Ambulance services are provided on a fee basis. Patients who are residents of unincorporated Monroe Township will have their insurance provider billed according to the services provided with any unpaid balance to be covered by the levy funds. Patients who are not residents of unincorporated Monroe Township will be billed along with their insurance provider, according to the services provided and are expected to pay in full. Levy funds also allow Monroe Township to contribute to the purchase of ambulances and other equipment to be used in providing this service.
Monroe Township provides quality fire protection for all residents and property in the unincorporated township area through an agreement with the City of Tipp City. Property owners in the unincorporated areas of the township pay a one (1) mill voted tax. These funds pay for the contracted fire protection services and allow Monroe Township to purchase fire trucks and other equipment to be used in providing that service.
The Miami County Sheriff's Department provides police protection for residents in the unincorporated Monroe Township. They apprehend and bring to justice all felons and disturbers of the peace in the unincorporated area of the township and county. They also execute all warrants, writs, and other legal processes throughout the county.
